In Defense of Food

by Alexandra

At the top of the list of things that grind my gears is the concept of “bad food.” It’s even more irksome when stupid advertising claims suggest that whole foods like bananas are “bad” or contribute to “belly fat” or something ludicrous like that.

THIS IS THE MOST IRRITATING ADVERTISEMENT I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!

::rage, rage, rage::

Guess what?

Bananas are very healthy and there are so many awesome ways to use them. They’re high in potassium, an essential electrolyte, and their natural sugars provide lasting energy.

They have practical uses as well, aside from their great taste. They help reduce muscle soreness, hydrate the body, are a necessary ingredient in banana bread, pair well with peanut butter when bread is MIA, look nice, and are easy to mash.

There are also about seven million ways to eat them for breakfast.

[mango, banana, raisins, coconut, walnuts]

 Eat your bananas, and don’t fall subject to dumb advertisements. And to think that I saw that ad on a healthy living blog…
