To Bake a Cake
The Baking of Cakes.
Flour. Sugar. Eggs. Butter. Oven. Cut. Frost. Deliver.
I tend to get discouraged. My soul wilts.
And then I run out of frosting half way through —
And then I run out of powdered sugar half way through making more frosting and find myself utterly befuddled by the big bowl of butter on my counter. Say that three times fast!
But then — wonderful sisters come to the rescue and bring powdered sugar. Then, we need nothing because we have frosting.
— and we also have frozen yogurt. With cookie dough. All is well.
And, we have cakes. Our cakes have plenty of frosting. The frosting tastes of strawberries and cream.
And Madison, wherever she is at the moment, must be a happy girl because the frosting on her cake tastes of strawberries and cream.
And I am a happy girl because the frosting on my cake tastes of strawberries and cream. You know, there are actually strawberries in that frosting? I don’t use that ‘extract’ nonsense. I like real strawberries.
I am also happy because my sister saved
my life the frosting. If she hadn’t, it wouldn’t taste of strawberries and cream and then nobody would be happy right now. Thank goodness for sisters.
