Just one of those days…
This morning was one of “those” mornings. You know, where you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and a bit too late, to boot?
I was tossing and turning all night long and went in and out of hot flashes/cold sweats. Why? Well, yesterday I was doing a little post-run carbo-loading, but it took a turn for the worse when I hit the Oreos a bit too hard (albeit after 3 bowls of honey bunches of oats.) That resulted in a carbo-coma and I felt like I was about ready to carbo-explode. In the end, I was feeling anything but good about myself so I turned in early, thus skipping the late-night cram session I had planned.
After a about 6 hours of unrestful sleep, I ended up missing my alarm. When I finally crawled out from under the covers, I had to get my booty in gear — quick! I reviewed my Physics notes, hopped in and out of the shower in record time, shoveled down a bowl of Fiber One Cereal with soy milk, grabbed a giant cup of coffee and made it to my physics exam…about 10 minutes late. Oh well. It was just one of those mornings.
Of course it didn’t help that it was raining, I had a left over belly ache and I wasn’t exactly prepared for the test. Oh well. When life gives you lemons, throw on a pair of sweats, skip the makeup (not the coffee), grab your books and go to class anyways, right?
But, TGIF — Thank God-Almighty that it’s finally Friday! I still felt pretty crappy when I got home — so I self medicated with an hour and a half at the gym and a big ole’ salad beast. (Definitely in the upper eschilon when it comes to salad size) Despite my iPod being dead, I was able to rep out 25 hard minutes on the elliptical, a fast mile on the treadmill, and 20 minutes on the stationary bike, followed by a circuit of weights and 25 minutes doing intense stretching in the sauna. I definitely felt a lot better after working out. When I got home I made a bomb turkey sandwich and salad beast and by now I’ve just about called it a night!
and since I was feeling just plain gross, I took a second shower…
Yes, it was an “oopsie” day, but I’m feeling better now, my tummy is happier, and I feel just plain bad-ass after that workout!
-what do you do when it’s “just one of those days?”
